Climbing!

Longest climb – Tanhurst Lane – 3km

Closely followed by Barhatch Lane – 2.6km

The long course will also climb the 2.3km up Leith Hill’s famous Anstie Lane.

Timing splits will be recorded. Please make sure you “dib in” at the first feed station!

Cycle Surgery are kindly providing an inner tube to all those who ride – far more useful than yet another medal!

Sportive starting and finishing at the same place, riders can start any time during the hour start window.

There will be feed stations on the course and at the finish supplying delicious homemade cake!

Long Course:

Feedstation one and toilets at 66k
Feedstation two and toilets at 110k

Medium Course:

Feedstation one and toilets at 66k
Feedstation two at 88k

NEG roaming marshals on motor bikes will be also be on hand to offer cyclists puncture repair as well as basic first aid.

PLEASE NOTE - This is not a race. Anyone seen treating it as one will be discounted and not given a time.

All riders must adhere to the highway code and we request that you be considerate and courteous to all other road users. Please be aware short sections of the course are on A roads. Riders should expect to encounter car, motorbike, lorry and agricultural vehicle traffic.

It is down to you, the cyclist, to follow the directional arrows which will be black on a luminous yellow background.

Parking
19th May at Surrey Sports Park - FREE car parking is available at the Sports Park, Guildford, Surrey.

Travel
Surrey Sports Park - Guildford is the nearest train station. The Surrey Sports Park is a short bike ride out of town in the Cathedral and hospital direction.

What to wear
HELMET. No Helmet, no ride!

Timing
Electronic chip card timing.
First aid
Two roaming marshals will be patrolling the course in their response vehicle. The number of the event director will be at registration. Be sure to save it to your phone and make sure you take your phone with you! If in the unlikely event you are involved in an accident, dial 999 if you can. There will also be first aid kits at the feed stations.
Toilets
Toilet facilities will be available at the start, each feed station and at the finish.

Water
Manned feed stations will be stocked with homemade cake, GU Energy gels, energy drinks and water.
Refreshment
At the end there will be homemade cake and other refreshments and Starbucks in the Surrey Sports Park.
